My name is Darlene Pagan.
For as long as I can remember, I've always been artistically inclined. The fascination stems from watching my mother paint and draw. I was always in awe when I would watch her move her brush. How you can do so much with a blank canvas and create the most beautiful thing with only your imagination and creativity.
As the years go on, I continue to apply myself, at my own leisure, how to "perfect" my drawings. Art always moved me. There wasn't a day where I wasn't drawing or painting growing up. It didn't go unnoticed, all of my art teachers & peers saw my potential. They all mentored and guided me to be a better artist and to use my talent and never waste it. That always resonated with me. I always knew that I would make a career of my talent.
When i was 18, I stepped into my first tattoo shop. The art and medium is amazing to me. I summoned up the courage to see if anyone was willing to formally train me. My portfolio speaks for itself so I was welcomed with open arms. I have all of my tattoo mentors to thank for introducing me to the field. It was no walk in the park. I'm thankful for them teaching me the ins & outs, the ups, the downs. The persistence and business savvy. I have to thank every artist for showing me how to have thick skin, all the rights and all the wrongs. I'm grateful for every single one of them.
To this very day, I push myself to stay humble and be a better person. To never let anyone of anything get in the way of my talent. I'm constantly learning and growing as an artist. And I'm excited to be a part of a talented team of artists.
